What is KEY Fellowship?
We are Non-Denominational
“Christ is head of the church…” Ephesians 5:23
The church is to be like no other organization in
the world. The guidelines for its make-up are given in the Bible. There is to
be government within each fellowship, but no outside control other than Christ
Himself. There are non-denominational groups like us with which we relate,
but we are unaffiiliated with any denomination. We want Christ to be our sole Head through the leadership of the
Holy Spirit.
We Teach and Practice the Word of God
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God…that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” II Timothy 3:16
At KEY Fellowship we study and teach the Bible. We seek
to live by the principles found in the Scriptures. The Word of God is the
answer for EVERY need. We don’t just believe it – we find it to be so!
We Believe in Prayer
“My house shall be called a house of prayer…” Matthew 21:13
At least once each week we have a gathering just to
pray. We agree for various needs that come before us either through specific
requests or through impressions from the Holy Spirit. Also, in all of our
meetings we have times of prayer. The Scriptures tell us to “be anxious for
nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let
your requests be made known to God…”
Philippians 4:6
We Praise and Worship
“Sing praises to God, sing praises…” Psalms 47:6
Sometimes people who visit our meetings are
surprised or have questions about how we sing and praise God. Many of us were
taught to believe that church meeting were not a place for strong emotional
outbursts. But experience and tradition are not always in line with what the
Bible teaches. We at KEY Fellowship have found that God wants us to really praise
Him! The Scriptures instruct us to sing, shout, clap, play instruments, leap,
raise our hands and even dance in our praise to Him. So in obedience to His
Word, we do it! We also do it because we are truly thankful and joyful about
what the Lord has done for us.
We Believe in Miracles
“These signs will follow those who believe…” Mark 16:17
“God also bearing witness both with sings and
wonders with various miracles and gifts of the Holy Sprit…” Hebrews 2:4
What good news! God hasn’t stopped doing miracles.
Yes, most of us have been taught otherwise, but tell someone who has just
experienced a miracle that they aren’t for today. At KEY Fellowship we pray for the
sick ( and see them healed ). We pray for the oppressed ( and see them
delivered ). We pray for those financially stricken ( and see them prosper ).
We cast out demons ( and see them go ). We believe God for some impossible
situations in marriages and homes ( and we see God do the impossible ).
Without the ministry of the miraculous, the church is just another social organization. Its ministry should be supernaturally endowed by the gifting of God through the Holy Spirit.
So we believe
So we practice
So we stand!
We Believe in the Baptism in the Holy Spirit and Tongues
“And they all were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the spirit gave them utterance” Acts 2:4
“tongues are for a sign; not to those who believe
but to unbelievers…” 1 Corinthians 14:22
What are these tongues? Surely they are but
foolishness to those who don’t believe. We that speak in tongues were
unbelievers too until tongues came to us through the baptism in the Holy
Spirit.
Now we believe!
Certainly this is a controversial subject for some,
but the Jesus Christ that is the same yesterday, today and forever is also the
chief cornerstone of the church. His church stands today to grow even more
dynamic in the power of the Spirit in these last days.
Nothing has really changed about this. Men only say
that it has. We speak in tongues because they have not passed away. We pray in
tongues. We sing in tongues. “For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to
men but to God… I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with
understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with
understanding…” And as Paul says in 1 Corinthians 14:18, “I thank my God I
speak with tongues more than you all…”
We Have Outreach
“You shall be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” Acts 1:8
Although we are a comparatively smaller fellowship, God
has given us an outreach that exceeds our size. Audio and video tapes are sent
out, as are booklets published by our own press. It is not unusual to have
people come for hundreds of miles to receive ministry at KEY Fellowship. The Lord
is training and equipping several of us to be sent out to other places and
ministries in the days ahead.
We Enjoy Fellowship
“If we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another…” 1 John 1:7
A vital part of real church life is fellowship. Not
just time spent together in meetings, but time eating together, working
together and recreating together. We help each other move. Brethren who know
how, help others repair their cars. Relationships are constantly being
developed and strengthened in a healthy fellowship body. Some have even moved from
other areas to be closer to this kind of interaction and love. We know it is a
vital part of our growth as a Believer.
Come Be With Us!
We hope this helps you know a little more about us at KEY Fellowship. It is not our intent to recruit members. We believe that God must be the one who knits people into this Body. Regardless of some folk’s feelings about this, we are here to minister to you in any way we can. We welcome you to come to some of our gatherings. Reach out for ministry or prayer. Freely we have received and freely we want to give.
