What do you mean by Deliverance?
it is the casting out of demons from people, particularly
Christians. The New Testament model of Jesus' ministry clearly verifies this
definition.
What is a Demon?
Demons are disembodied spirits. They have distinct personalities,
desires and names. They have a strong desire to dwell inside humans since this
is the only way they can fulfill their desires. They can exercise authority on
the earth through a human tongue. They are invisible to the human eye.
Why can’t I just ignore these things?
Jesus did not ignore them, why do we think we can. Demons
are not harmless, as some teach. They are deceptive, and most people are not
aware of their activity in their own lives, homes and churches. Jesus gave
every believer the authority to deal with demons. Casting out demons is a
primary sign to follow a true believer. Acts 10:38
... "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with
power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were OPPRESSED of the
devil; for God was with him"
Can Demons go out of
one person and into another?
In some instances demons can leave one person and go into
another. If a person desires to have demons come into themselves ( as some
people in witchcraft ) they can take in the demons. This is common in certain
religious rituals such as Voodoo. People can be vulnerable to demonic entrance
for several reasons. Where there is a valid spiritual authority and
discernment, such transference is very limited.
Where do demons go when they are cast out?
Usually to dry places, according to Jesus. They do seek to
return to the person they were cast out of if the person’s cleaned house is not
filled with the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Should I be afraid of
demons?
NO. Believers have absolute authority over demons. “Nothing should
by any means hurt us”. Remember that FEAR itself is a demonic spirit and can be
cast out.
Why is deliverance not practiced in most churches and ministries?
Satan and the demons have worked fervently to deceive the
body of Christ about their activity. Deliverance requires a higher and new
level of spirituality, requiring a fuller walk with Jesus Christ. Many
believers simply DO NOT want to deal with demons because they are embarrassed
or shamed. Church and ministry leaders avoid such ministry. Deliverance
ministry is hard work, and requires a lot of sacrifice of time and effort. Most
believers just choose to stay away from Deliverance Ministry and just be
comfortable “living with their problems” rather than confront the enemy and
expel him.
Is one deliverance session enough?
NO, never. It is
a life-time experience and life-style. It is warfare. Jesus came to destroy the
works of Satan. People face rejection, traumas, sins and many experiences.
We are to fight and keep fighting till we are FREE 1 John 3:8 ...
"For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the
works of the devil"
Does everyone need deliverance?
YES, no
exceptions. People who say a born-again believer cannot have an indwelling
demon are in total error. This denies a major part of the ministry of Jesus
Christ.
MY PASTOR DOES NOT
BELIEVE IN DELIVERANCE, WHAT SHOULD I DO?
If you are serious about maturing as a Christian and
becoming an over comer, you must find your place in a body with leadership that
believes in, partakes of and practices deliverance. This ministry should not be
delegated because leadership does not want to do it. God’s true leadership
should set the example for the flock just like Jesus. This sign of casting out
demons should follow all believers, including the leadership. Jesus offered no
substitute for deliverance or the casting out of demons. He fasted and prayed,
but He still confronted the demons and cast them out. God’s true leadership
must set the Jesus-like example.
WHAT CAN I DO TO MAKE
DELIVERANCE MORE EFFECTIVE IN MY LIFE?
Resolve your total commitment to the Lord.
Repent of all known sin.
Receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Find ministry you can trust to open your life to
completely—become totally transparent.
Get “knit-in” to a body of believers with like desires,
beliefs and practices.
Get your home in order according the standards of God’s
Word.
Begin to minister to others and give of yourself.
Keep your eyes on Jesus and all He has done for you already
and not the demons and what yet needs to be done in your life.
